Happiness needs to be worked for

Sometimes life sucks, and that’s how it goes. You start to feel weak, it gets harder and harder to wake up everyday, you feel unmotivated and you just try your best to keep going. Everything seems to be going wrong, sometimes there are days that make spilling your coffee and losing a document, feel like the end of the world. You feel lonely and empty, you wish to just have a day where there are no obstacles or arguments, where you just feel happy.

Life would be easy if you could just ask for happiness, but I am sorry to tell you, it doesn’t work like that. Happiness needs to be worked for, you need to fight every single day, you need to be strong, so you can get to the surface of the sea, but trust me, when you do, you will look back, you will see how much you have worked, you will be proud and that kind of happiness, is the best happiness.

It’s tough, I know, but don’t you want to feel like you are on top of the world, like nothing can stop you, don’t you want to feel strong? Ask for help and DO NOT be ashamed, getting help is not a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of strength because you accepted that you are not ok and that takes courage. Take a deep a breath, tell yourself that you can do it. Wake up like a champion, make yourself you favourite breakfast and now and then, treat yourself, eat a piece of cake, go to a salon, get a massage, binge watch Netflix for a couple hours, go and see your best friend, because laughing is the best therapy yet. While in the process, think of what you do have, think of the family that supports you, think of that delicious chocolate in your fridge (hahaha kidding). Keep going, It will feel like you're stepping on a broken glass road barefoot, but after you will be stepping in soft, warm, white sand. Choose the stairs and not the elevator, because at the end of the lift, the doors close and you can’t see the things you achieved.

Here are a couple quotes that will motivate you through the journey:

“Of this be sure: you do not find the happy life… you make it” (By Thomas S. Monson)

“Be happy of what you have while you work for what you want” (By Helen Keller)

“Happiness does not come from doing easy work but from the afterglow of satisfaction that comes from the achievement of a difficult task that demanded our best” (By Theodore Isaac Rubin)

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post and learned, that in the end everything will be just fine. I hope everything goes well.

As always,

Remember, Be You.

Naia :)
